How to run an investigation in ‘Search’

The ‘Search’ module in the Themis Search Platform allows you to investigate a client before onboarding them. It allows you to build out a ‘Risk Map’ of your customer & all associated persons or companies. This step would normally be completed once a red flag has been raised and there is need for a deeper look.

To run from the Search module

  1. Select ‘Search’ up the top right hand corner of the Platform or from the Themis Search homepage.
  2. Select if you want to ‘Search’ for a company or individual.
  3. Put the name of the company/individual.
    1. You have the option to add the Jurisdiction too - start typing the country name and it will refine the search
  4. Click ‘Search’.
  5. Select the company/individual from the list to add them to begin investigation.
  6. If they do not appear in the list, this means that they do not appear in the corporate directory. You can still investigate this individual/company, by pressing the ‘Start Investigation’ button.
  7. You will also now need to click ‘Run Checks’ on the left hand side to product a list of ‘Matched Profiles’.
  8. Click ‘Preview Details’ to ensure you are selecting the correct entity.

From the ‘Screen’ results

  1. Go through the steps to run a ‘Screen’ as outlined here.
  2. From the ‘Screen’ menu either search or select the company/individual you want to add to the ‘Search’ tab.
  3. Click ‘Launch Investigation’ on the right hand side.

From the ‘Monitor’ results

  1. Follow the instructions to add an entity to ‘Monitoring’ here.
  2. From the ‘Monitor’ module either search or select the company/individual you want to add to the ‘Search’ tab.
  3. Click ‘Launch Investigation’ on the right hand side.

Once you have launched an investigation from one of the 3 above options follow the below steps to conduct a ‘Search’:

  1. From the right hand side, click the final tab of the individual/company profile and this will show you any associated individuals/companies.
  2. From here you can choose to either ‘Add’ or ‘Discount’.
    1. Adding the individual/company will add them to the ‘Risk Map’.
    2. Discounting the individual/company will remove them from the list.
  3. Once you have added any associated individuals/companies, you can build the map out further if required.
  4. Click on the circle of the associated individual/company & click ‘Select’.
  5. Double check on the final tab under their profile that there are no other individuals/companies that are to be added to the Risk Map.
  6. From here you can either:
    1. Save the investigation so it can be accessed at a later stage in the ‘History’ tab.
    2. Create a report for export to your own CSM or record keeping system. This will also allow you to complete a ‘Risk Summary’ and complete some additional fields for a more holistic view of the Customer. For more information on creating a report look at our article here.
    3. Share the report with another team member in the Themis Search Platform.
    4. Access the Audit trail to see which team members have edited the Search.
